Greetings and lots of love from Belgium to Constantine and Loys, their children and grandchildren. It's nice to know there is a well-organized community in California.

I take great pleasure being related to Peter Boudoures. His wife Martha was my mother's (Nora Glattree Crabb) Aunt. Uncle Pete and Aunt
Martha were the pillars of our family. It was always a pleasure hearing political discussions over Thanks Giving dinners. Memories of
Uncle Pete and Aunt Martha remain cherished. --- Arlene Crabb Citron
Great food and friendliness at the festival, a definate SF hidden treasure. Thanks Albert C.
Hello! My name is Mary Kombolias. I am an Orthodox Christian who has been displaced by Hurricane Katrina. In order to finish my master's
degree in Materials Chemistry at the University of New Orleans, my research advisor has found me a post at a research group at Lawrence
Berkeley Laboratory in San Francisco. I will be leaving Louisiana and arriving in California sometime in the first week of October, and my
main concern is to find an affordable place to live, as the university is having difficulty paying graduate students at the moment and will
not supplement any stipends for cost of living increases. If there is anyone in the church community who has any means of getting me in
contact with someone who is offering some kind of subsidized housing, I would really appreciate it. I can be contacted at kombomeal@yahoo.com
if anyone has any leads that I can follow. Thank you very much for your time and consideration, and God bless!

picture of my Aunt Effis wedding with my mother Madeline as a baby and her brothers Paul and Bill. Also to see pictures of my grandparents
that I have never seen before. Thank you so much.
Reply from webmaster: Dear Stephanie, you are most welcome. I am working on several Greek historical projects and have many photographs
of your grandfather and grandmother. Please contact me. I would love to speak to you and share what I have. Please send me an
email or contact the cathedral office and they will put you in touch with me.

I could find no mention of your choir, its members or its activities. Did I overlook a link to this information?
Thanks,
D.
Reply from webmaster: It's true that there isn't a current picture of the choir on the site. However, there are historical
photos of choirs past in the historical archive. I am sure that we will put a photo of the current choir in the near future.
This is a well-balanced, well-written, informative and user-friendly site. Your pictures also express a proud history. Thank you

hello,my name is DENISE COVARRUBIAS (KAFANTARIS) I am looking for info. regarding my GRANDFATHER JAMES KAFANTARIS, he was
a native of SAN FRANCISCO, and my GREAT-GRANDFATHER JOHN DIMITRI KAFANTARIS.if anyone knows anything please e-mail me at
(two6e4mycat@aol.com ). i wish i knew more of my GREEK heritage.
Reply from webmaster: I am replying here because this type of information is useful to Greek Americans researching
their family history. If your grandfather and your great-grandfather came to the US through Ellis Island (most likely yes),
then the records are available to you at ellisislandrecords.org. You can search their database online. Ellis Island records
will also provide other information that might be useful in researching your family in Greece. In the US, you can also obtain
death certificates online and that might provide useful information (birthdate, place of birth, etc.). Kali tihi - Good luck.
I hope you find what you are searching for.

Hello , my name is Vangelis Kirialanis , I am Greek Orthodox Christian and I live in Komotini, Greece.
This website is great , I would like to have some answers about the differences of adult and infant baptism
and how is performed the adult baptism , because as I know the baptismal font does'nt fit an adult and also
the priest cannot raise and lower the body of the adult by holding him by his armpits as the priest dioes in
infant baptism during the triple immersion in the baptismal font . I would be very happy if the priest of this
church would reply to these questions ah and something last , why the priest holds the baby from it's armpits in
infant baptism ? Does that have a meaning?????
Thank you very much.
Sincerelly yours,
Vangelis Kirialanis
Komotini,Greece
Reply from webmaster: Geia sou. A reply from Fr. Stephen: New churches are being built with infant and adult
baptismal fonts. This a trend because there are a growing number of adults converting to our faith. As for your comments
about being held by the armpits, there is no reason to hold someone by the armpits. That is not taught in theological
school. I believe that priests hold a child in a manner which they consider safe while they are performing a baptism. "By the
armpits" is probably considered the safest method for many priests.
Great new look. I love it. Pics of the dancers from the festival
and FDF would be really awsome if there was a section on the site. Just a
suggestion. Keep everything up!

Hello fellow Greeks in San Francisco. I would like to know if you
have a Greek phone book on the internet. I'm trying to find my Godfather. I
have pictures of him at my baptism, back in 1963-4. Where can I post my plea
to find him? He and his brother were my Godparents, who lived in Montreal,
Quebec. My other Godfather attended my wedding in 1986 and his wife helped me
dress on my wedding day. They didn't even know where to find him. They just
knew he lived in San Francisco. I suffered a stroke on St. Barbra's Day in
2000, and the doctors told me there must be an angel watching me 'cause I was
lucking to survive with such little permanent damage. I say St Barbra was
watching over me. Her icon now is in my home! Now I feel a strong need to
find my Godfather. Please help me, I don't know where to turn to for help.
Reply from webmaster: Dear friend: Your posting did not contain the names or an email address contact.
Please send me an email so I can post the information here. That will
help anyone who might be able to help you.
Dear friends: The name of this lady's godfather is David Diktakis. You can reach "Dimitra"
via email if you have any information regarding her godfather.
Thank you for placing these prayers and food for thought so that
God led me too.

I was excited to see the church where I grew up now has its own

Paraskevi (Vicky) Kalenteris from Toronto, Canada. Great site! Love the informative
pages.
Blessings upon all of the faithful of the Annunciation of the Theotokos, I thoroughly enjoyed your
website and especially reading the thoughts from the Holy Fathers of the East. Keep up the good work, one day through the
divine direction of the Most Holy Trinity ,the MostBlessed Ever Virgin Mary, and all the Holy Saints, we will
one day partake of the Most Blessed Eucharist of the Divine Liturgy in both the Church of the East and the Church of
the west. I am woman Catholic organist from Vancouver, BC, Canada, who enjoys surfing the Orthodox website. I do
include music from the Eastern Church in my liturgical repetoire from time to time.
God bless each and everyone at Annunciation Cathedral,
Sincerely in Christ. Pat Buckley
