A Message to Parents

The goal of Sunday School is to educate our children in the Faith and Traditions of the Greek Orthodox Church in accordance with the Moral and Spiritual teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This can be accomplished through the emphasis that God loves and cares for each of us and his help is available through our committed relationship with Him, others and ourselves.

Through an inspired prayer life, an active participation in the Sacramental life of the Church, the reading, comprehension and application of the Scriptures, appreciation of the Sacred Traditions, and knowledge of Church History our children have the opportunity to be prepared spiritually to become faithful, responsible, devoted and dedicated members of the Church and good citizens of the United States while maintaining a strong link with their heritage.

Each grade has been assigned particular goals to be accomplished. They are to be incorporated into the weekly lesson plan. In this manner, students will learn the various Orthodox Prayers, Liturgical themes, and various aspects of the Bible.

We are providing a calendar of the first semester and an explanation of special events so that you may plan your family calendar. Please make an effort to meet your child’s Sunday School teacher, learn the lesson of the day, and together we can emphasize God loves and cares for each of us.
