Begin Trial of Greek Counterfeiter

The trial of James Tsoucas, the last of a trio of Greeks who were arrested on a charge of counterfeiting some months ago, was commenced before Judge de Haven in the United States District Court this morning. The two confederates of Tsoucas pleaded guilty to escape trial, but Tsoucas refused to plead guilty as charged. Christos Patrikloupoulou was sentenced to one year in the County Jail of Alameda for his complicity in the scheme, while George Rose, the other confederate, was sentenced to a year in the County Jail in San Francisco.
