Present Greek Consul With Valuable Medal

John Kapsimalis, who has just been appointed resident Greek Consul in San Francisco, was recently presented with a handsome medal by his countrymen in this city on his retirement as President of the Greek Community. The medal, which is a handsome diamond and sapphire studded shield draped with the Greek and American flags, was presented last Monday by the members of the Greek colony through Congressman Julius Kahn. It was given as a token of appreciation for the work Kapsimalis has done in furthering the interests of the Greek Community in building a church, school, and cemetery for the colonists from the Peleponessus.

Kapsimalis succeeds Henry Martin as Greek Consul, and he will have his offices at 130 Sansome street. He has been five years in San Francisco and was pleasantly suprised when he received his commission from King George and his certificate from the President.
