Greeks Fight For Freedom, Says Premier
ATHENS, June 30. - Premier Venizelos, in his speech to the crown, after taking the oath of office at the palace, said that Greece's place
was beside democracy and that the nation was struggling for freedom of the world against the two central powers, with whom Grece's hereditary
enemies were allied.
"We realize," the premier said, "that unless we drive the Bulgarians from Eastern Macedonia, that part of Greek territory will always be
exposed to great danger. Before, however, thinking of mobilizing that part of Greece which has not shared in our movement, we must vitalize its
military organization which has fallen into such decay and bring about a fusion of two armies.
"In brotherly co-operation, therefore, we shall now call out the untrained classes of 1916 and 1917."
