1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake

On October 17, 1989 at 5:04pm, a 7.1 earthquake struck the San Francisco area. The damage to the Cathedral was significant and the city said the building was in danger of collapse. The Cathedral was demolished. The photographs below show the damage to the Cathedral.
