On Sunday, February 4, the Navarino Messinian Society offered an Artoklasia, on the occasion of the Feast of the Presentation of Christ to the Temple. The main church in Kalamata, Greece, the capital of Messinia, is named in honor of the Virgin of the Presentation of Christ. Shown above is Kalliope Fousekis, the first woman president of the Navarino Messinian Society, receiving one of the loaves from Fr. Stephen as their grandson Vlasis carries the censer. The organization held a successful dinner-dance on Saturday, February 10, to benefit the Cathedral’s building Fund and also other philanthropies.
